San Angelo State Park Year Round Volksmarch

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

Ed and I headed out to West Texas to walk in San Angelo. We choose to do the 12K optional route that included the red dam loop trail. We saw in the distance what appeared to be buffalo, but upon getting closer we discovered they were metal sculptures. LOL

Due to the extreme Texas drought the dam appears to be holding back no water.

It was 44 degrees and breezy when we walked but the small pond we passed had an ice crust on it.

We saw three hikers, two bike riders, and two Javalinas. I wasn't quick enough to capture the pigs pictures though.

The buffalo sculpture fooled me, too! Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful walking trips with us. I always look forward to them!

Looks like a good walk--bummer about the buffalo, know that would have been exciting! Do you have a goal to do a certain number of Volksmarches each year? Am impressed with your perserverance!

The drought has really taken a toll on our state.
Like the buffalo, too. LOL!
