Happy New Year Spark Friends! I have decided that 2013 is going to be the year of better health for me. I am not focusing so much on my weight this year. I met my goal weight in 2012, but my health, both mentally and physically declined. I had 3 knee surgeries and they took a lot out of me. My MS worsened and that also took a lot of physcial and mental energy from me. That is not what I had planned for last year and last night I closed that chapter on my life.

Today a new year has begun and I couldn't be happier! Like my Spark Friend, Pixie, I am concentrating on good health alone and see what happens. I started the year off right by having an updated MRI taken of my brain yesterday so that I can get my medicines properly adjusted. That alone should make a big difference. I am going to concentrate on natural foods and exercise that is fun and makes me smile, not just sweat. I want to be happy while exercising because I am enjoying what I am doing, not just what I think is good for me. This last year the exercise was exercise that I had to do, not what I wanted to do. That will change as of today. My favorite exercise is swimming and I am getting back to it as of tomorrow. I am so excited at the prospect, that I can't wait to get in the pool tomorrow evening.

It wasn't easy to take this inventory of my life from the past year, but I am glad that I faced up to what had happened and what I can do to change things. So today I am asking you, take that good long look at the past year and see if you are satisfied with the way that it went. If it went well for you, stick with what you did. If things didn't go the way that you wanted, then see what you can change and then take that first step in changing things up. The path to a good and better life is up to you, dear friends. Here is a toast to 2013 and a life full of mental and physical riches. emoticon

Mazzie, I could have written this. I have had both knees replaced. Last year, I had 3 knee surgeries and yes, they took a lot out of me. I also met my goal weight last year. Here' the kicker, if you will look at my Spark Page, you will see that I also MS. I also had an updated brain MRI this year to see what changes I need. I was diagnosed in 1998. If you ever need somebody to talk to, I am here for you. emoticon

Enjoying your exercise is definitely key! I don't love my cardio as much as I do my ST, but I do try to keep it fun. I don't do things that I really hate ~ I don't want it to be miserable! Glad you have swimming and love it!

Cheers to a wonderful year ahead ~~ to HEALTH!! emoticon

Best wishes for a very happy and healthy New Year!! emoticon emoticon
