How did your 31 days to be fabulous work out in December? I really enjoyed thinking about the positives, one moment at a time. Thinking abundantly is a great way to finish the year strong. Yet, in January, we are entering dangerous territory.
The year 2013 itself is not dangerous; it’s the start of a new year, any new year, that can be dangerous. There is pressure to have a New Year’s resolution, a personal word for the year (mine is listen), pressure with job performance…then there are gym memberships and healthy cooking goals, maybe even some financial goals. All of this adds up to a lot of pressure, a long list of goals, resulting in the strong probability that nothing new will get accomplished.
In the spirit of finding your focus for 2013, I offer you a motivational story of 12 people who transformed their lives…12 butterflies who morphed for the better: Rik, Katie, Mary, Linda, Allison, Jennifer, Andrea, Meredith, Jen S., Lealah, John, and Ada. They are regular people; some in their 20s, some in their 40s, some parents, some single, but all of them made a choice to lose weight (lots of it!) and to begin running. On average, each lost 100 pounds. Now these 12 have formed a team for the 200-mile, Miami to Key West Ragnar Relay Race.
If they can do it, you can do it. To prove it, they are making a film, “From Fat to Finish Line,” sharing each of their journeys from fat to fit, and then their team experience racing from Miami to Key West. Each has an unique story…each with a different break point, or ah-ha moment that changed their life forever. With different approaches, each resisted the pressure to quit, to go back to old ways, to give in, and remained focused on one thing: weight loss. From Fat to Finish Line is their story. A can’t-miss episode!
It is their hope that you will be inspired by their stories and motivated to make a serious change to your own life. When you’re feeling down about your goals, feeling like you don’t have the focus you need to make a change, try reading the stories of these 12 transformed people. It might just be your ah-ha moment.
