Hello There, January! Long Time No See!

I'm not going to make the commitment right now that I will blog about my monthly goals every month because I'm still suffering from "pregnancy brain" which I think has actually turned into "mommy brain" (that's how that works, right?) I forget EVERYTHING! Which reminds me, I saw this movie about 2 years ago starring Ryan Reynolds and I don't remember for the life of me what it was called but he carried around cards and he wrote all of his daily tasks on them and fully organized his life by them and I always thought that was a smart idea; that that would be a great thing for me to do. But then I forgot to do it. Lol
Aaaaanyway, my short term goals, just for this month are as follows:

1. Get into the habit of working strength training into my day at least 3x per week -- This has been a really hard thing for me to do. I'm not sure why because toning up is something I REALLY want. I've hated my arms ever since I can remember and I dream of the day when I will have nice, not-so-flabby arms.

2. Start budgeting -- Now that the holidays have passed, and don't get me wrong, I love them but I'm so happy not to have the strain on my wallet and bank account anymore! Now I can't wait to start putting aside for certain things like the Disney vacation I so desperately want to take in a few years and car repairs (something that is a regular part of EVERY year for me) among other things.

3. Lose at least 5 pounds this month -- For months my weight loss has been moving at a snail's pace and I'm not sure if I've been replacing fat with muscle and that's why or what the reason being is. I've been watching what I eat and working out for months and months but I just can't seem to shake much of this fat. My weight loss has been so slow that I've only been losing about 2 lbs per month. However, now that I am making more of a conscience effort to work strength training into my day and I'm paying attention to more than just calories (fat, protein, carbs, sodium) I will be able to meet this goal by the first of February.

That's really about it. Well, those are the most important anyway :) I have a feeling this month is going to kick start 2013 in such a way that it's going to be the best year I've had in a long time!

I think that's a really good idea, posting your goals where you know you'll be able to see them. I have a dry erase board right in my central living area and it's one of those calendar+notes section ones and I could definitely utilize the notes section for something more important than random doodles Lol
And in an attempt to make strength training habitual I am writing all of my fitness activity on the calendar on the days that I do it. I admire you for finding the time and energy to workout with 4 little ones; I only have one very demanding baby and I struggle to find time and energy!

    I write my goals and post them in a place I can see them regularly throughout the day. I have 4 kids with one more on the way =S (yes I think I should be tested to see if I'm crazy LOL) since I'm very forgetful too. I find that if you start your day out on track it will stay that way but if ou wait a bit you won't do as well.

The best thing to do is to keep everything as consistent as possible so that it all becomes habit. When it's habit you don't have to worry about forgetting any more =] Easier said than done LOL, but it's achievable
