Charlie and I saw in the New Year the way the two of us would. First we went out and saw a movie. It was extremely good. I could tell by how many tears Charlie shed. The stars were Bette Midler and I am drawing a blank ( got it Billy Crystal). Marisa Tome had a supporting role. It was about being the 'other grandparents'. We saw too much of ourselves in this story though it does mean that our children are the pickiest of parents. The children were so fussy that they hardly wanted the grands near their children. Those were our kids in a different setting. It does mean that we are not always rooked into child minding but once in a while would be great. They let us do it more when the kids were younger. Enough about that! I adore Bette Midler. She is around my age and looks fantastic. No reason why I couldn't look just as good! She probably doesn't eat sugar and gets lots of exercise. Charlie says face lifts but I don't know. She just looks like a very well taken care of older woman to me. Anyway, then we came home and had a very nice supper and around 10 we had pizza and some chocolate to celebrate. We went to bed but got woken up by two insane dogs who cannot stand fireworks. Here in Mexico it is a free for all. The night was noisy to the extreme. I put both dogs on leashes and attached them to the sturdy table legs, cleared everything away and put their doggie beds within reach. No matter what we do they will be miserable so we may as well take care of our own needs. By 6 in the morning the dogs were calm and now are sleeping. There will be thousands of very crazed pets and people this morning.
Happy 2013 Everyone!
