I've never set goals or anything upon starting a new year. Well, never set them in stone anyway. Maybe that's the thing that makes all the difference though. Since last night I've been trying to get all of my ducks in a row when it comes to what exactly I'd like to accomplish this year and I think I have it all figured out.
1. Start cooking! -- I've never really been one to cook (unless you count the microwave as cooking) but I think this might be the year that I start. In addition to turning to a healthier lifestyle, I want to learn how to cook good meals for my daughter. She's only 8 months old but I figure I should get in the habit now that way when she's eating the same things we eat, it won't be unfamiliar territory and I'll be able to set a positive example (something I never had growing up in regard to food)
2. Get out more! -- I signed me and Luna up for our first Mommy & Me class (which is tomorrow) and I'm hoping to make this part of our weekly or biweekly schedule. Since moving back to PA I haven't had any friends and it's really starting to get to me. I think getting out and meeting other moms and introducing Luna to children her own age will do us both some good
3. Reach goal weight by my goal time -- This pretty much speaks for itself. I have 46 pounds to lose by the last week of May and I think I can do it. No, scratch that, I KNOW I can do it and I WILL do it. It's been a dream of mine for years and years to be "swimsuit ready" by summer time and this year is my year!
4. Feel happy and confident in my own skin -- I've never had this and looking back I could just shake my younger, thinner self. Even though I miss the days where I was a size 5 and parading under the misconception the I was fat, I can't wait to be back down to that size and feeling great about myself. I think once I get to that point my life will change completely. Confidence is an amazing thing!
So, those are my plans for 2013. Well, my biggest ones anyway. Of course there are many smaller ones in there but I think we will just address those on a month by month basis :)
