Goodbye 2012, You Won't Be Missed

2012 wasn't a banner year for me. I tried to get back on track, but it seemed like something kept coming along and knocking me down.
I have to say that every since June 2012 my life has been a chaotic mess. That was the month my 88 year old father had skin cancer removed from his nose. What started out to be routine turned into a long process that included an 8 day hospital stay and then 8 days in the nursing home before he was functioning enough for mom to be able to take care of him at home.
The surgery took a lot out of him and one of them was his ability and desire to drive. While I already considered myself the caretaker of my parents, that really came home when dh and I have had to take over taking them to appointments.
In August my father had his second surgery to finish the skin cancer surgery. He had surgery in September for something else. The blessing of these two surgeries was he did not have a repeat occurance of what happened in June.
My mother has had two outpatient surgeries in recent months.
Basically, since June I have done nothing, but run around and chase my tail. I'm not sorry for the year to end.
I look forward to making 2013 a different year for not only me, but my family.
