January 1st, 2013: Resolutions!

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

This is my weight today (the lowest it has ever been)...

I love New Year's resolutions and I always make them! I have plenty of them this year... but I'm only going to share the weight and health-related ones here on Spark.

1) Eat clean for the family.
~ I have a husband and two daughters who eat pretty well. But I need to put some more effort into providing cleaner, healthier meals for them. I eat pretty clean myself, but I'm always eating something different than everyone else. I don't want to be neurotic about it and drive them all nuts... but I do want my family to start eating more fruits and vegetables.

2) Learn my body's healthy weight and maintain it.
~ Right now I'm 134.8 lbs. I'm still losing, it seems. I'm happy where I am, but I'm going to allow my body to find its ideal weight via homeostasis: a weight that I can comfortably and realistically maintain. Then I'm going to focus on maintenance. For the first time in my adult life, weight loss is not a New Year's Resolution. But I do plan to be at this current weight or below by this time next year. Maintenance is the hardest part!

3) By this time next year I want to get into a full camel pose. I'm almost there!! I just need some consistent practice!

I prefer the kitty-sleeping-in-sunpatch pose, myself! Good luck on the twisty-bendy thing, though! No doubt you'll be there in no time at all!

I do the same thing, eat differently than my family because I don't eat meat, butter or salt. I keep fruit in the house, whatever their favorite is, and I am trying as well to get them to eat better! Your breakfast is one of my favorites!

I have no doubt that you will keep your resolutions! And it is a great idea to get your family eating clean. You are such a healthy role model for your girls! I'm really lucky that Rob eats healthy, but his stupid brother keeps bringing all kinds of crap into the house! Last week it was a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and homemade brownies, and now it's fudge and chocolate cake. I have to get rid of him! emoticon

What an amazing year for you! I hope I can say the same this new year's eve!
If you can get into a camel pose, maybe it's time to quit your day job!

Oh, the uncharted territory of maintenance. I'm sure you'll rock that like you do everything else.

The full camel pose looks painful! But then again, I'm not very flexible. I hope you reach your goals!!
