Tobogganing and Anti-Binge Strategies
Monday, December 31, 2012
For our last day of 2012, I took my two sweet kids on the local toboggan run followed by sledding, laughing, and cups of hot cocoa with candy canes for stirring. Aside from being a fantastic bonding day, I also worked my poor buns off scaling that hill -- more sore muscles! I was really proud of myself that I COULD get up that hill. There are plenty of parents out there who wouldn't be able to do that, so I can count that as a victory.
Another victory: stayed within calorie limits, even though I had a huge breakfast. Slowly, slowly, I am getting back on track.
Now, for the anti-binge battles that I am always waging... I found two great strategies on the Secrets of Success tab:
1. Fill up on water and decaf tea during binge times (for me, this is 8:30 - 10:00).
2. Track WHILE binge-ing. Wow. Talk about a guilt trip. This reminds me of when I used to ask my husband to put the Chips Ahoy in the cabinet over the refrigerator because I knew I'd be too embarrassed to get out a chair to retrieve them. So here I sit, laptop in lap, tea and water by my side...and I have no interest in snacking. Happiness!
Happy New Year, everyone! Wishing you all a 2013 full of victories!
