Today a friend asked me how much weight I had lost. Whenever anyone asks, I always try to remember how much I weighed when I saw her last before I answer. I did the math and answered, "about 5 pounds." She replied that it looked as if I had lost much more than that.

Well, how should I react? After gaining and losing and gaining, I am only 5 pounds down from the highest I've ever been. In fact, I may be a couple pounds heavier than I was when I saw her last.

Maybe it was my outfit?

Maybe I look more fit because I've been doing 5-10 minutes of exercise almost every day?

Maybe she wasn't paying attention last time she saw me?

It's been a while since anyone said I looked as if I had lost weight, so I'll take the compliment.

I would take the compliment, too.
