I lost 4 lbs on the trip back to it true cold weather burns more calories?

Monday, December 31, 2012

emoticon I'm thinking it may well be true...cold weather uses more calories to keep your body furnace stoked. Case in point...I pretty much ate my way through our 8 day vacation back to my frigid home state visit for the Christmas holidays.

It was either the cold weather...or the stress of navagating the waters of landmine triggered in-law visits. My nerves were on edge the entire time, and of course being from sunny FL I didn't ever stop shivering from the time the plane landed until the time it re landed back home in sunny sub tropical FL.

Soooo I'm guessing for all of my snowy cold winter may actually work to your advantage calorie wise.

I ate anything and everything I wanted for the entire trip. Now granted most of the food I wanted was Iowa Pork tenderloins, Iowa Graziano sausage, Iowa angus steaks and Iowa gineaua grinders. Not so much carbs as good ole protein. So maybe that had some caloric effect.

I'm happy with the 4 pound loss...I can look back on all the shivering and shaking and think maybe it wasn't such a bad deal for 8 days.

Now the stress was something I really could have done without...but at least I can look back and say that I gave the challenge my best shot and that's really all any of us can do right?

I'm looking forward to a happy, healthy and prosperous new year! I'm thanking all of lovely sparkling friends for your never ending support and best wishes slogging though some of my cumbersome blogs...I blog about pretty much anything and everything that is on my mind at the moment.

I always hope that by sharing my life adventure I might strike a note in someone else's life that brings them insight or inspiration on certain life challenges and that by using myself as an example and sharing the lessons I've learned I might make things a little easier knowing that we all are so much more alike than different.

Happy new year my dear friends...2013 is a new door that is opening for all of us.

Walk through it with hope, happiness, vision, health and prosperity..the taking is there for the asking. I ask for peace and happiness for us ALL! Amen!

I am sending up a special shout out to my powerful angel protector, my guidance system, my reason to keep on keeping on! I love you son...I miss you mightily! Peace be with you and keep shining down your love on your dear ole' momma, father, and all of your wonderful friends!

So that's why I can't lose weight now! I'm further south and in a slightly warmer climate! lol Well, that and I'm at a lower altitude now which means that I my body lungs and heart and such don't have to work as hard. emoticon

Seriously though, emoticon on the weight loss! emoticon emoticon

Congrats on the weight loss! I usually gain weight in the winter, because I'm lazy and I don't stop eating. I hope this year is different!

emoticon job on the weight loss. Unfortunately, I don't think your "cold" philosophy holds up for those of us that are used to it! Have a happy and healthy New Year!
