Knowing vs. Understanding the Definition of Insanity

Monday, December 31, 2012

Most all of us are familiar with the quote from Albert Einstein that says the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Of course, I know the addage, but I didn't realize until today that I never truly understood it or embraced the idea.

Today I read this, "With any lasting change comes the necessity to check out both the causes and effects of what is currently in play that makes the reality what it is right now. Rather than focusing on merely trying to make change outcomes without understanding and shifting the cause of these outcomes, life can be frustrating."

I have a lot of food for thought from this article on learning to reframe thoughts that are working against my goals. The mental adjustments I am able to make will determine my long term success in meeting my goals.

So much of a healthy lifestyle is a mental game -mind overcoming matter, not taking the path of least resistence, facing your fears, facing the unknown, etc. We just have to make up our minds to never give up and never give in.. To move forward one step at a time and keep going, no matter how long it takes. Its a never ending journey. All we can do is travel it as best we given our circumstances.
We can do this Judi!
