Blessed today

Monday, December 31, 2012

It wasn't such a great day for my friend as she was still sick with the stomach virus, but that turned out a blessing for me. If she had gone for her surgery I would have been on my way to her house and broken down in the middle of nowhere. But I was in town and was able to make it to a mechanic. Things were up and down, though. They had only a couple mechanics working today, so could not even look at my truck. Si I figured I'd put more anti-freeze in the truck and head home. I called a friend from church to make sure I had waited long enough to put the antifreeze in after the truck had overheated as much as it had. There came a second blessing. Dan told me he would be over in a little while. He found that I had a crack in my radiator (rather than a nice leak in the hose where I thought it was) and spent the afternoon putting a new radiator in my truck. So I have made it home, with my truck. He checked while the truck was running and didn't see anything leaking so I am hoping that the dripping from under the truck was just from water hitting the bottom of the truck and left-over antifreeze and water under the hood. Along with the leak in the radiator we managed to find where the suspected leak in the oil was (in the radiator).

It cost quite a bit today, but was a big saving from what it would have been if I had headed out to my friend's or if the mechanics would have had time to get to my truck today. So, even though I had problems today, I feel extremely blessed.

I had a similar experience about a month ago, and felt similarly blessed, even though it meant getting a new radiator, too!
