Well, the day has arrived. The last day of 2012. 2013 is upon us. I have done so well for the last 4.5 months. I have lost 55 pounds. I am the strongest I have ever been in my life. I have chosen wonderful food choices 95 percent of the time. I have gone to the gym or walked every day since August 11th. I have not had an adult beverage since August 11th.
I actually lost 5 pounds from last Monday to this Monday and that included Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I worked out 2 hours a day all last week. I hit the gym and put in 2 hours today. An hour of Body Pump and an hour of Zumba was completed.
And this is what will be happening tonight:

Oh yes, there will be many NYE Shenanigans. Now mind you, I tracked all this food. But, there is no way I will be eating ALL of this food. Also, Chef's portions are VERY appropriate. There are no portions of meat the size of your head and the sides are all about a quarter of a cup. But, there is a LOT of food to sample from. But, I do not have to eat it all, and I don't physically I COULD eat it all. I am choosing the better choices as in the smoked salmon over the canelloni and the pork loin over the Bernaisse sauce. So, there is my confession for the day. Yes, I am actually going to let go for ONE day. I will be RIGHT back on track with a vengeance come January 1st. I think I deserve a little eating extravaganza.
yes, I will be having a cocktail tonight also. That is my resolution for the New Year. To enjoy an adult beverage in MODERATION. I mean totally moderation. No booze in the house, no more than 1 cocktail at a bar, and only once a month. I am a strong, confident ADULT and I do not see any harm in relaxing every one in a while. If it gets out of hand, I stopped before and I can stop again. Also if I see it affecting my weight loss goals then it gets exnayed from the menu once again. I have read countless articles that state that totally making anything completely off limits is a bad thing, and I agree.
Well, I hope everyone has a really safe and happy New Year's Eve, and I will be catching up with everyone tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow, I am sure the scale will not be happy for a day, but I have an entire week to take off whatever I put on with tonight's shenanigans and I think it will be WELL worth it. I am going to party like it is 2012 (oh yea right). :D
