2013 - Here I COME!!

For the first time in a very long time I’m really looking forward to the New Year. I mean I always look forward to the New Year but this time I have real hope for the future.

So what does the Kitty have planned for 2013?!?

Probably my biggest goal is in running. I will run in 6 5K races this year. My dad signed me up for two as Christmas presents. I’m also planning on doing the Santa Hustle and Hot Chocolate 5k again. So that leaves me needing two. I’m hoping to find one here in NW Indiana (kind of sick of traveling to Chicago). So we will see what happens but I will do 6 this year.

I also know I need goals and challenges. Just saying I’m going to do something is ok, but a public challenge. I was brought up to be a very competitive person. I think I need that for my motivation. My 12 days of Christmas really helped (I think it is the only thing that has kept me anywhere near my 130 weight). So I’m coming up with 13 Challenges in 2013! I found that just running with the 12 days worked well. So I’m doing the same thing here. 13 days of 2013 will start tomorrow. I’m going to start with another building challenge like last time (NO SQUATS). I will not go more than 2 weeks between challenges. I’m going to invite anyone who wants to, to jump in and join me. It will also keep me blogging!!!! Can’t challenge if I don’t blog!
Now in terms of more mundane things, I need to be back in calorie on a daily basis. I know there will be days over (I will have crispy mayonnaise shrimp again) but it will only be planned. I also need to use my kitchen more. So I’ve told hubby, I will NOT be eating out 3 or 4 nights a week. Nope. He loves eating out so it will be one night a week at a restaurant I can control my food. He has agreed so we’ll see.

I also need to start doing ST more. The January Jumpstart Challenge will help with that but not enough. So ALL TV commercials will be time for reps. I can do that.

Finally, steps need to get back on track. I’ve been far too low for the last 3 weeks. So I need my 10,000 per day.

I’m not setting a weight loss or maintenance goal. I just need to do my work and keep to my plan! I know I can do this. I came so far last year. Next year will be even better.
