2013 - Here I COME!!

For the first time in a very long time I知 really looking forward to the New Year. I mean I always look forward to the New Year but this time I have real hope for the future.

So what does the Kitty have planned for 2013?!?

Probably my biggest goal is in running. I will run in 6 5K races this year. My dad signed me up for two as Christmas presents. I知 also planning on doing the Santa Hustle and Hot Chocolate 5k again. So that leaves me needing two. I知 hoping to find one here in NW Indiana (kind of sick of traveling to Chicago). So we will see what happens but I will do 6 this year.

I also know I need goals and challenges. Just saying I知 going to do something is ok, but a public challenge. I was brought up to be a very competitive person. I think I need that for my motivation. My 12 days of Christmas really helped (I think it is the only thing that has kept me anywhere near my 130 weight). So I知 coming up with 13 Challenges in 2013! I found that just running with the 12 days worked well. So I知 doing the same thing here. 13 days of 2013 will start tomorrow. I知 going to start with another building challenge like last time (NO SQUATS). I will not go more than 2 weeks between challenges. I知 going to invite anyone who wants to, to jump in and join me. It will also keep me blogging!!!! Can稚 challenge if I don稚 blog!
Now in terms of more mundane things, I need to be back in calorie on a daily basis. I know there will be days over (I will have crispy mayonnaise shrimp again) but it will only be planned. I also need to use my kitchen more. So I致e told hubby, I will NOT be eating out 3 or 4 nights a week. Nope. He loves eating out so it will be one night a week at a restaurant I can control my food. He has agreed so we値l see.

I also need to start doing ST more. The January Jumpstart Challenge will help with that but not enough. So ALL TV commercials will be time for reps. I can do that.

Finally, steps need to get back on track. I致e been far too low for the last 3 weeks. So I need my 10,000 per day.

I知 not setting a weight loss or maintenance goal. I just need to do my work and keep to my plan! I know I can do this. I came so far last year. Next year will be even better.

    Eating out is one of my biggest challenges too. If I could afford to (both financially and calorie wise) I'd eat out every single meal. I love that I can tell someone what I want, they bring it to me, and then take away the leavings. The no prep and no cleanup are just about my favorite things. I need to find more "stuff" to cook at home that requires less prep and cleanup, and I need to be more careful in my choices for the meals that we do eat out.

Your 2013 goals sound manageable and well thought out. Mine are still distilling in my head, but I'm planning a goals for January blog tonight.

    I like this, very well thought out. I support you in it all. You have put out a big plan and if anyone can achieve it I know you can. I too want to walk in more 5K's so I will be doing some research into what is out there for me this year. You set a very good path to follow Kitty, thank you. It gives me food for thought in setting my goals.

    Yay! I'm glad you are doing the Jump Start too. We can cheer each other on! I am looking forward to your challenge too. I'm way down on my steps since my mom died, but am working to bring them back up! I'm with ya! As long as we do the work, the results should follow!     Great plans. I know what you mean about staying in calorie more regularly. I find eating out once a week helps a lot for me. I hope hubby keeps to his promise :-)

    I work every day except for every other Friday. It's a weird schedule but hubby and I make it work. I try to cook just one meal a week. I have been checking out the recipes on this site. Most of them are easy and pretty darn tasty. Check out the 15-minutes fish fillet with parsley pesto. YUMMY!

I right with you on the challenges! I'm excited to see what you will "cook" up!
