Listening to my inner child...and she is having a tantrum!

Monday, December 31, 2012

You hear about it. The inner child. The voice of wisdom. So I set out to listen to her and, Whoa Nelly..that girl was having a tantrum! She was screaming that she was scared...that she doesn't like going to the doctor. So this is what is eating me?! Yeah says the Super Nanny. Your dog got into the Christmas chocolate. Sleepless night. Next day he suffered a soft tissue injury and the Vet said he has to stay on a leash for the next 4-6 weeks. You shipped your oldest back to college and he has food poisoning and can't keep anything down. Your Mom has diverticulitis but they can't say for sure. Your cat vomited all over the sofa this morning. And the biggie, the one that has been bugging you for weeks is that your other son, the one with the blood platelet disorder, has to have his wisdom teeth out. He was supposed to have it done two weeks ago but the surgeon wants him to have a higher platelet count. So he had another blood draw this morning and will get the results on January 3rd. If his platelet count is high enough, he will have surgery on the 4th. So the plate is piled pretty high and you tried to eat it all. Hence the weight gain. My inner child is exhausted and wants to curl up in a little ball on the floor with her blankie. I sure do wish I had a security blanket to give her. A warm fuzzy. I can tell she is scared. Sigh....

Well if I was you, I would get in a warm tub even with epsom salts, and after a nice warm bed with a good book or movie, or if it helps journal. You sure do have a lot on your plate. WOW. HUGS and hoping all get well and everything turns out for your son and his surgery.
