My New Year's Resolution

Monday, December 31, 2012

I hate resolutions.... and I guess this isn't really one of them, but I wasn't sure what else to call it.

Guess what I just did????

I bagged up all of my clothes that were too big for me... Including my Calvin Klein jeans, my favorite turqoise blue spring top, my white jean shorts with the bling bling on the back pockets and sent them out the door with DH to be donated to Goodwill.

I DID IT! I am done with the rollercoaster. I am starting off 2013 resolving to only have ONE size in my closet. No longer am I going to have several different sizes in my closet. Do you know how great this feels???? I can do this. This is maintenance and it feels great.

So I put on about 2-3 lbs these past 2 weeks. They are coming off right now! I allowed myself some leniency over Christmas and the 2 days we were snowed in.... but I have been right back at the gym and healthy eating and it is coming off.

I have some cool things coming up this year! Half Marathon #5 is less than 3 weeks away! It's on a really cool trail (it was my first half marathon) and this year DH and DS are doing it too!

Also, something I am super excited about, my CrossFit gym is doing a body challenge in a couple of weeks. It is a 3 month challenge that is supposed to help get the body fat off... We will get a body fat measurement with skin calipers.... never had that done before and I am so curious as to what my body fat is! We will do 2 different workouts at the beginning and end of the program to measure our progress. I cannot wait!

I hope to spend more time here on SparkPeople.... I owe you guys back the encouragement you all have given to me..... Feeling pretty guilty when I recevie so much and don't give it out like I should.

Happy New Year everyone!

LOVE your New Year's resolution!! Good for you for sending those too-big-clothes out the door! My closet has about 3 or 4 sizes in it and I would love to settle on just one (the smallest would be nice, is that too much to ask? LOL).
Best wishes on a FIT and HEALTHY 2013! I am also going back to my Sparking ways. I hope to encourage and support you in the new year!

Getting rid of the "old" size clothing can be difficult, but it is incredibly liberating and really does finalize your size in your mind. I had put it off for so long until I decided that I'd rather have a closet full of clothes that fit a healthy body than have an excess of "just in case" clothes. Keeping it is kind of like giving yourself an excuse to fall off of the bandwagon. Keeping clothes that fit, on the other hand, keeps you honest because if they don't fit, you know that you are doing something wrong and to fix it! Thank you for being such an inspiration to me, by the way. I'm training for a beach run at the start of February!
