For week 3 of our winter challenge, we are to set goals for the coming year. I figure that if I put them in a blog for anyone to see, then just maybe I can keep them for longer than a few days. So, here is what I would like to accomplish during 2013:
1. Eat at least 1 fruit &/or 1 veggie, and drink 1 glass of milk daily. Even 1 serving is a big deal for me because some days it's a big struggle to eat healthy food.
2. Exercise a minimum of 90 minutes per week. I had done this a while back, and my streak lasted almost 3 years. Time to get back on track!
3. Try to curb my emotional eating - especially cut back on sugar. I should only eat when hungry - not when depressed/stressed/bored, etc. Sugar is my addiction, and I've been able to kick it before, so I know it's do-able.
4. Allow some time daily for meditation/deep breathing. I feel so much better when I can recharge myself & try to let the stress go. Just some "me time" makes the world easier to deal with.
I've never been good with keeping a journal, but will be trying it again. Surely, I can at least keep track of when I've kept a goal. Maybe gold stars on a calendar will help also. I know that I can do this, it's just a matter of being accountable to myself & being committed to becoming healthier.
