I looked for last year's blog and found that my goals for 2012 seemed to revolve around learning to crochet. How very healthy!
I'm happy to report that I have made progress and can now do all the major stitches. I have completed lots of little samples. My goal for 2013 is to actually complete a garment or useful item.....possibly a scarf as I need to start with something easy.
My other goal was to stay within my healthy weight range and "not to turn into a blob again". I'm delighted to say that I have been 100% successful and it is all thanks to the continuing support from my wonderful Spark friends.
Obviously, that goal remains for 2013 with the additional aim to get down to my exact ideal weight and to stay there. I am still adjusting my fitness regime to keep it fresh and am still learning about nutrition. I think that will be a lifelong learning process.
I think my goals were simple last year because my life was in turmoil as I had just been made redundant. I didn't know where I would be living or working at the end of 2012. Well, we are still living in the same place but will move one day when Daughter isn't so dependent on us. So my efforts to keep our house presentable continue. I have nominated 2013 as a "ceiling painting" year. This is the diy job I really hate because of the potential mess. There are 3 ceilings crying out for a fresh coat of paint and I'm aiming to do them before the gardening season starts again in April.
On the job front, I am lucky that I still have my little Sunday job in the same place that made me redundant from my full time job. It gets me out and keeps me up to date with my old colleagues. I still volunteer at a theatre and have signed up again for 2013. I'm also going through a very long application process to be a reading helper in a primary school. I have passed the interview and references stage and the next step is a criminal history check (no problem!!), training, and finally a placement at a school. I have requested a local school as travelling in my area is not easy or cheap. Hopefully 2013 will see me either volunteering in a local school... or not as the case may be. I'm quite open minded about it.
So it looks like 2013 will be another mixture of uncertainties and simple goals.
Happy New Year everyone.
