The weather man is fired hehe

Monday, December 31, 2012

We are supposed to be dry they said....Not...Dennis came home from the ranch and said it's starting to snow. We didn't get any in our yard, but the hills and mountains right by us did. So we drove around and I took a few pics. First I had to get a Peppermint Mocha, so I took the first 3 pics by Starbucks, which is about 5 mins. from us. I'm looking at the Mountains right by our home.

There were Seagulls flying all over. About 40 all together. They will look like specks in the sky here. They are the funniest birds.

This is right across the open field where we walk the dogs.

Driving towards the Bison Ranch. I rolled down the window for this one.

We drove out to where the Long Horn Steers graze. All of the Cows were on the other side of the field. Sure looked pretty.

We were on our way home, and stopped by the ranch that is 2 mins. from our house. As I was standing there 2 White Crowned Sparrows jumped into these bush.

The decor at the ranch is cute.

We pulled into our driveway, and I spotted a few Dark Eyed Juncos. They are pretty birds. My pictures didn't turn out real well due to lack of light. I didn't want to use my flash.

We have to end this with a cute little smile...Munchie

Here's a better picture of the Junco's.

Your dark-eyed juncos are different than what I call a dark-eye junco. On the Cornell website yours is called an Oregon Junco, where mine is called a slate-colored. Interesting!!

Wow! Very neat and beautiful. Yes, we fired the weatherman down here, too. No rain predicted, but it poured for a while, then light showers off and on the rest of the day. Snow on Saddleback and its adjacent mountains - much more widespread than I have seen in years! The kids were thrilled.

Munches smile is beautiful. Finally birds we do see here...juncos! Ha! We have about a foot of snow down now but it has turned too mild so the snow is wet and heavy. We call it heart attack snow in these parts.

Happy New Year

Your countryside look even better with snow. I have to travel a way to get anything like this.

If we fired our weatherman every time he got it wrong there would be nobody left in the UK to do the job emoticon

I spoke to my Nephew yesterday, he lives up but the Great Lakes and they only have a foot of snow (his words)

Stay warm. emoticon
