Ah, that is the question I present to myself. To make or not to make my New Year's Resolutions.
Usually my initial line of thinking is, "Why? I won't keep it anyways." However this year I was thinking what a relief that I don't even have to think about it because I am already doing all the things that I need to do. So I just need to keep on keeping on. However, I did feel it would be beneficial to re-visit my goals, restructure my plans, look at where I need to fine tune, and decide what I need to do in order to accomplish my goals for 2013.
Yet here I sit, still thinking about it. Do I really need to make a New Year's Resolution? Shouldn't I make it official or something I guess? Well, let's just think about it for a moment. Resolution. Resolute. What does that even mean?
Freedictionary.com says it means:
1. The state or quality of being resolute; firm determination.
2. A resolving to do something.
3. A course of action determined or decided on.
Merriam-Webster says it means:
a: the act of analyzing a complex notion into simpler ones
b: the act of answering - solving
c: the act of determining
So, I guess when you look at it like that, that is exactly what I have done - I have reaffirmed my resolve for the New Year. I am of firm determination in doing everything I need to do in order to reach my goals. I have resolved to do so. I have decided on and I know my course of action necessary to reach said goals. I have been analyzing my bigger goal and have broken it down into smaller simpler mini-goals.
I know what I need to do. I know how I need to do it. I have all the tools necessary to get it done. And I am determined more than ever to reach my goals in 2013.
So in answer to my question, Yes, I guess I have made my New Year's Resolutions. A New Year, A New Me – 2013 LOOK OUT cuz here I come!!
