Paleo Diet Day 48: Cleanin', runnin', A good eatin' day

Today I suppose I started to prepare for the New Year by cleaning up my study, dropping stuff off at the thrift store, recycling, returning library books and pre-positioning snacks at my office, much like Antarctic expeditions cached supplies for their trek. Yesterday I deleted lots of old email (too many to name, like the grains of sand on the beach ...). I also framed some Van Gogh art prints I'd ordered last year (!) and now they're ready to go up on the wall. Later I took the Grete Waitz picture my daughter painted me for Christmas to the frame shop and ordered a nice I frame (on 60% sale no less). Is anyone else experiencing this urge to create order out of chaos?
Exercised by running 3.25 miles on the treadmill looking out the window at a wintery landscape. It's nice to look at from the inside, but too icy on the roads for me to feel safe running outside. So I'm becoming friends with the treadmill. I do speedwork to break up the routine and keep things interesting as well as to try and get, well, speedier. I believe this will also help build overall strength to make up for the fact I'm not out there knocking off a longer road run.
Eating was good and exorcised the spirits of last night's party. Bacon and eggs with avocado and salad for brunch, roast organic chicken thighs and mixed veggies for dinner. Pre-dinner snack of almonds, raisins, date bars, and tea. Dessert of a small slice of the GF cheesecake (a good spirit from last night) and a few bites of dark chocolate. Red wine with the chicken. Mix in some Sunday Night Football and it was a good end to what was, I think, a productive and healthy day.
