New Year Plan

Sunday, December 30, 2012

So i have lost 23 pounds so far so that is good. So for the the new year my plan is to stick to what i'm doing but to ramp up the work out. I need to do two a days. I need to figure out how to add more fruits and veggies in my diet. I need to start cooking for myself i think. I don't know that i'm quite their but i need to really cut back on Hot dogs and Bologna because i love them. But their not really healthy to have all the time so i need to eat more Lean cusinie and Healthy Choice. I have been happy with all i have cut out just need to cut out more. I want to reach my goal of 134 in May three months ahead of SP deadline. And then i want to lose about ten more pounds by august and that will be 120 and what i want to maintain.

So I want to wish all my SparkFriends a Happy New Year and lets reach are goals. We Can Do It.

I love hot dogs too, but they knock my immune system out so I only have them in summer. I try for turkey dogs with no added nitrate.

Jules - you're doing great with your weight loss. Yeah hotdogs and bologna sure taste good but not so healthy. Once in a while ok to indulge. Keep up all you're doing and you will reach your goals. emoticon Just remember no goofing off my friend.

I don't like "faking" my favs - no TVP or tofu doggies for me. I love hot dogs. So I get them very very rarely. And if you stop eating them for a longish time (30 days?) it makes it weirdly awesome and disappointing when you have them. (I totally eat them at the ball park though.)

I mean, that first bite tastes AWESOMESAUCE. But the last bite tastes like icky.

So, yes, I love Hot dogs and Bologna too. With a deep passion. That is threatening to my marriage, I swear, it runs that deep. But they are like the ex-boyfriend you can't shake - in the long run, they are bad for you, no matter how happy you are for brief moments.

You must be really working out alot in order to lose over 20 pounds while eating hot dogs and bologna. Let us know how long it takes you to get used to exercising twice a day - something I currently only dream of. Good plan and good goals.

Sounds like a reasonable, well-considered and totally do-able plan, Julie!!

Barb's suggestion on the 'dogs is a good one; let us know if you look into it! If reading the 'contents' and 'nutrition' labels doesn't steer you away from hot dogs and bologna, it might help to think in terms of what foods you prefer to them. And... sometimes we can train ourselves to prefer healthier foods, too. Example? Use less salt and bologna eventually will be too salty for your tastes.

Someone counting just protein might say: oh, hot dogs are about the same as regular (not lean) ham, so what's the dif?! Well. Look at the numbers. Calories, fat and sodium stand out to me as tipping the nutritional balance in a bad direction. (This help??)

    .........HOT DOG........
    Calories ......................148.5
    Fat ....................13.3 g
    Saturated Fat .................5.3 g

Maybe you can eat hot dogs made of soy or TVP. There's a lot of foods made of texturized vegetable protein that taste's like the real thing. These usually have less fat and more protein. I hate to cook, so I can relate to your delimma. My hubby does a lot of the cooking at my house.
Sounds like you have a great plan for the new year. Good luck! emoticon emoticon
