How I know this is good for me

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Yesterday we had a snowstorm. For my area, it was the first amount of significant snow. While I love looking at it, I don't enjoy shoveling it. Plex and I have a tiny electric snowblower which really isn't good on anything more than 3". Well, yesterday we got over 12". So out came the shovels.

Now normally I go out to shovel, get about 1/4 through the driveway and have to come back in. I can't breathe, my back hurts, my hands hurt, and my head starts to hurt. Today, I got none of this! I was out there almost 2 hours, finished the driveway AND the walkway, and I feel great! I didn't lose my breathe, I don't hurt anywhere in my body and my head isn't hurting either. I am feeling so good about this!

This is what losing 40 pounds did for me. I feel so pumped up now! Now to hit a shower....

Wow!! You did so good, I am so proud of you!!! Now you see the real benifits to your
weight loss journey. So all that exercise limbered you up enough too. Take pictures and remember this when you are down. It's living, breathing proof!!

We are similar. I was diagnosed D2 around June of this year. I had lost over 40 pounds using Sparkpeople, originally to get by blood pressure down. Thought I wasn't going to have to take bp meds, and then diagnosed with D2. Battling the weight issue and balancing nutrition is now at the forefront of my life. I would rather be pre-occupied with some other things to do.
I take it you are in the north. Where abouts? I grew up in Canada for a little beyond high school, so I know whats that like first person.
Nice meeting you. Happy New Year's Eve eve.
