Tried bitter melon and cactus fruit, most recently. Both were...different.
The bitter melon was DEFINITELY bitter. I made a SP recipe that used eggs and tomatoes, and it definitely needed LOTS of tomatoes to help cut the bitterness. But it was interesting!
The cactus fruit - well, I'm not sure we even ate it right. There were lots of seeds on the inside among this tasty watermelon-like flesh, and then there was seedless flesh on the outside of that which was more edible but not quite so tasty. So I have no idea if we ate it "right" or not, but it was also interesting.
Totally worth trying! :) I do love trying new fruits and veggies!
