The last game....

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Today is the very last game my oldest will be playing with her club soccer team. She's played club soccer since she was four and with this team for six years, so this may be a tough game for the parents as well as the players!

The one "high point" of this game is that my daughter is playing the coach of her high school team. The high school team isn't very good, but it's a lot of fun!

It's the ending of one chapter and on to another. Soon my oldest will graduate from high school and then off to college. The dynamics of our house will change tremendously and I'm not sure that I'll be ready. I guess I'll have to be! emoticon

Hope you enjoyed your last game. It is very hard when your children go off to college. Treasure this time you have with them'

I hope your holidays are going well.

Enjoy the time you have. Things will be different but it will still be wonderful.

I know that transition will be tough. BUT, you will be able to embrace new challenges in this healthy lifestyle. The skies the limit! You'll do this! All the best!

Yes, one's household sure does change as the children leave the nest. I am not sure anyone can totally prepare for it but it's nice when you watch your children become successful. I have two step-sons I helped raise and one is going to turn 40 in January. Both are successful and that is nice. But where does the time go????
Happy New Year.

What will you do with your weekends now? My youngest is a high school senior and has played club soccer since he was 4. Between club soccer and high school Varsity soccer, our life is soccer and stinky soccer clothes. And now he has decided he wants to play soccer in college (D3) so that means we have been flying all over to meet with soccer coaches etc.. My oldest is already off at school so we are not doing as much divide and conquer parenting. It was good to have him home for a few weeks ( he just finished up his study abroad in New Zealand) but I was also ready to put him on the plane back to school. They spread their wings and that is good but it is also difficult when they return home and don't understand why you still worry about them. Sigh...
