SparkCoach Challenge: Action Plan

Short blog, as I am still thinking about goals for 2013, but the visualization exercise today is to think about what my life would be like if I were perfectly content in all aspects. Then, the challenge is to blog about an action plan for those less-than-satisfactory aspects.

So far I have used December to ponder changes that need to be made now that I am in maintenance (body weight) and have spent 2012 working on forgiveness (emotional weight), and I see my biggest needs are to lose physical weight (clutter/possessions) and financial weight (debt). Thus, when my action plan solidifies, it will center on those two areas of my life that are weighing me down.

    Good for you that you are able to narrow down you goals like that. Very impressive.
    I thnk now that your targets are so well defined it will be that much easier to achieve your goals.

    Joined Spark Coach Celia. I'm trying to do things I haven't done since what I have done hasn't been working! Happy New Year!

    I agree that physical clutter is necessary to get rid of. I love my "things" but I have many I could get rid of. When I do that I feel so much lighter. It makes it easier to clean. The books I have read on de-cluttering say that it helps your mental attitude.

    Great plan!! I'm so with you on that de-cluttering goal - its something I've been working on but I still have a long way to go!! I love CMRAND54's idea of a shopping hiatus! I believe I need to try that!!

    Way to go!! Right now I hope to lose more weight and get through the year!!! Daughter's 3rd baby in February; son's wedding in July. I need to continue working on a positive frame of mind. I seem to head down that slippery slope to negativity so easily! Doing better; still need work. Have a happy new year!

    I have similiar goals with financial pay down on a loan. And saving some money. But I also have to lose more weight. I did good through the holidays (still have New Years to go bc I am going out to dinner) but I am down in weight. I had gained some but have lost what I gained plus an extra pound!! So I hope to keep that way until this last holiday is past and bring on 2013 !! It should be a good year emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Good plan! Mine will be very similar. Some years i make a vow to NOT shop for at least 6 months. I've done this successfully twice, and I'm going to try again this year. I will still shop for food (and coffee) but will not buy clothes, shoes, household items like dishes, towels, etc., books, magazines, jewelry. No trips to the mall or Bed, Bath and Beyond. No on-line shopping. I can still buy presents for other people. If my car breaks down, I can still repair it. (I may need new tires, for example.) My extra money will go to pay down some bills that bother me.

    This exercise helps me to budget my money, and it keeps a lot of unneeded stuff out of my house. It also helps me to focus on the many blessings I already have, and the things in life that are important.

    You are so thoughtful in this. Someone once told me that physical and financial health are the bedrock of happiness. Not necessarily having a lot, but being content with what we have. It always made a lot of sense to me. Wishing you both success and prosperity in the new year!

    Wow - I really like how you've broken this down - body, emotional, physical (clutter), financial. Things can seem overwhelming sometimes, so tackling one area at a time makes sense.
