Crappy food makes one just feel crappy!

Sunday, December 30, 2012

We were invited to friends for dinner last night. One of those times when you just go with the flow and eat what they serve. Way over did it and to be truthful didn't really enjoy it. Hate when that happens. My friend made a chili with "special" hot pepers...too spicy for me but ate it as I didn't want to hurt her feelings. also served really cheesy cornbread...which also ate. everything tasted really salty. I was 109.5 yesterday before dinner but today with all that salt I am 112.5. I also feel really off so it will be nice to just relax (yeah right) and watch two football games today. will watch our Eagles and Seahawks.
Hope all my sparks buddies have a great day.
I am looking forward to eating healthy and right.
Cheers
Sallie

I ate salty food yesterday and went up 2 pounds. You don't feel that well the next day.
Hope your New Year's Eve is a good one! emoticon

I AGREE Sallie. I like eating my own cooking as well.
I am learning to say no, that doesn't agree with me
more often now. Salt is a culprit and makes you feel
awful aftere eating salty food. You are so good at
getting yourself back to goal. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am older and have had way too much wrong with body, so I have no problem saying that will not agree with me. Am sure it is delicious but think I will pass. It reminds me when my father turned 65 and I was in the car with him at a 4 way stop sign. He stopped and then pulled out, I said "Dad it was the other person's right of way". He looked at me and quite frankly said, "Hon, I am 65 years old and I have been waiting on people all my life, I think it is about time they waited on me." I was floored, but as I got older I understood better what he was saying. Why do we treat other people better than we treat ourselves??

Know your body will get rid of that poison it short order. Sorry it has made you feel off your game.

I can't imagine maintaining a steady weight in an environment where I feel obligated to eat junk. I'm in awe of your ability to recover, and will think of you when/if I end up overeating in a similar situation. You've shown me how it's done, and I'm confident you'll get it done this time as well.

Sallie you will get that off in no time that salt does it every time. I know what you mean about going some where & not particularly caring for the food.Take care. Thank you for liking my photos on my blog.

Sometimes I fib a little bit and say I'm allergic to something if I really think it is not in my best interest to eat that particular food.

But what can you say, it happens sometimes. Hope you feel better today!

Can relate to what you wrote! Frankly, I prefer to eat my own cooking or just a few select nicer restaurants because so much food is too salty, too fat- or carb-laden or the veggies are treated like some sort of minute condiment! To not enjoy food and then gain weight because you forged ahead in politeness is like insult added to injury! But... you will shed the extra pounds quickly because you are good at staying on top of your balance! What taller people don't realize is that every pound on a short gal is a larger percentage of a total than a pound on someone five or six inches taller, so as a five-footer I sure do understand and applaud how you watch the numbers!

I so agree with your title. Don't know why we do it - I did all day yesterday - will be glad when the holidays are over and eating is back to healthy.

Not to worry, you are always great at getting back on track. I never feel well when I have too much sodium.

It's always hard when one eats out at restaurants or friends' houses. You were polite and now you can get back on track today. Have a great time watching football. Lots of veggies?

We are Eagles fans, t00! E-A-G-L-E-S fly eagles fly!!! emoticon

I have no doubt you'll get it back in no time. About the only thing I can say about eating at other people's homes is you do what you can do. Sometimes I can take a veggie dish or tray; sometimes that would be appreciated and some times not. Other times I have taken my own food, explaining medical need. Sometimes that would just seem too ungracious. Sometimes I've eaten healthy before I go so that I can just push a few bites around the plate and talk a lot.

Your way of getting right back on track isn't a bad one. Events like this one remind you why you enjoy your healthy lifestyle!! Take care.

Yeh- salt seems to be a "way over used" condiment. I am always surprised at how much salt is added to recipes and is in restaurant and processed foods. I try to "not salt" my food LOL emoticon
    Enjoy your games :-)

Hope you feel better after a day of eating right. I have been trying to find other activities than eating to do with some of my friends. So much of social activities seem to center around eating together. Unfortunately, with a few of them, eating is the main way they they like to get together with friends. I am now trying to encourage quick drop by visits, just to sit and chat for a little bit with each other, rather than meals where I am either going to feel bad afterwards or it is stressful for all of us when I don't "eat up" food I neither want nor enjoy.
