So - end of year is a great opportunity to look at what I achieved in 2012 and what I aim to achieve in 2013.
I started SparkPeople properly in August 2012 and in that time I've accomplished quite a bit. Most obviously I've lost:
31lbs ( 2 stones 3 lbs) in weight
4 inches off my waist
5 inches off my hips
3.5 inches off my bust
2.5 inches off my thighs
2.5 inches off my arms
Less easy to measure but hugely life-changing - I've gained:
Control over my eating habits
Understanding of what to eat freely and what to eat in moderation
An exercise regime which whilst I can't claim to enjoy I can live with long-term
An unshakeable confidence that I will continue with this altered lifestyle and meet my goals
1. I aim to complete the January jump start challenge which i've started today and which I hope will help me towards my next mini goal of 40lbs lost by the end of January. I've been stuck at 31lbs for 3 weeks now and much as I'd love to see my weight dropping again soon I'm thrilled to have got through Christmas without gaining weight and without feeling deprived of anything at all.
2. I aim to continue to improve my relationship with exercise. I'm definitely finding it easier as my size reduces, but I've still to develop a sense of enjoyment from it. I'll soldier on as I like the results. I'll focus on that and making my everyday life more active, I've treated myself to a Fitbit to help me along to 10,000 steps every day - just waiting for the postman to come up with the goods.
3. I aim to lose a pound a week on average. If I succeed with this I will be within 7lbs of my end target by this time next year.
4. I aim to log into SparkPeople to interact and track my food and fitness everyday to keep the momentum going and my motivation strong. There really is no way I'd have got this far without the fantastic support and advice I've had from SparkPeople and its fabulous community.
Wishing everyone reading all the best in striving towards your goals in 2013 whatever they may be.
Happy New Year!
