I have two older laptop computers. The oldest one doesn't have a working battery. When on the internet, it goofs up and I have to continually restart the computer. It's very slow and outdated. The other one had been acting up - not wanting to shut down, giving me funny lines when on the internet, etc. I was on it the other day and it just shut down. No matter what I did, it would not turn back on. It was a bummer. I had some files on it that I didn't back up and will now have to have someone try to get off the hard drive via some special equipment.
I am on the computer so much that I really needed to think about getting a new laptop. So, I got on a friend's computer and started looking around. Many of the sites I looked on were out of stock on the laptops that I was looking at. Many people must have gotten new computers for Christmas. So, a friend and I headed up to Best Buy to take a look around.
We found one that was reasonably priced that looked like it would do what I need to do with it. Luckily, a shipment had just come in and I was able to get one. It's got Windows 8 on it and I'm still trying to get used to it.
I've been installing programs that I frequently use and updating information. It's been time consuming but fun. I've found that I can only spend so much time sitting in front of it before I need a break. I also found that this computer has a lot of games on it that could prove to be a little dangerous. I can see myself starting to play a game and having the time get away from me. I'm making it a goal right now to get on a schedule and only spend a certain amount of time on the computer each day. I'm determined to add a little more exercise to my daily activities in the new year and sitting in front of a computer only having my hands getting a workout doesn't count. Oh, the joys of computers......
