The whole family went shopping yesterday but we didn't find much clothes-wise or really anything much to be honest. I got my husband to stop by a thrift store that is a little distance away from our home (since we were driving by it anyway on the interstate) and my daughter found her absolute favorite Harry Potter hardback book (marked down) and I found her a long sweater jacket that was marked down 3 times and finally was $1.98 (Children's Place) for her.
I have never seen so much traffic and people at a mall in my life yesterday. It was nothing compared to right before Christmas day or even Black Friday; it was simply insane! We had to walk a very far distance to find somewhere to park which I suppose is good since we needed the exercise, but it was windy and cold and I hate that combination, LOL.
We found nothing at the mall except tons of people everywhere you turned, it was like a mob scene! My husband was going to just give up and go home but I told him that we had already traveled this far and that there had to be at least one parking space somewhere!
I think I will stick with my local stores closer to home that aren't quite as populated!
We ate lunch before we left home (on my insistence) but did pretty good calorie wise and budget wise and ate at Subway (which thankfully wasn't as busy as the other restaurants in the area) and I had a coupon and my husband used the gift card I gave him for Christmas (he was supposed to use it for lunch during the week but decided to use it anyway).
So now I'm focusing on what my New Year's resolutions are for the new year as most people do this year. It's so funny because I seem to have a repeat each year of what I want to accomplish and I feel like I accomplished them this year.
There is always room for improvement though so I will continue my goals I made last December/January and here they are:
1) Continue to maintain my weight
2) Cook more from scratch
3) Organize my life/home better
4) Educate myself and constantly research on finding even more ways to save money
5) Love myself more by allowing myself to have more "me time"
I will post how I feel I have accomplished these goals this year in later blogs and how I plan to do even better than this year on those goals.
