Plan for 2013

2012 brought a lot of changes in my life. I graduated in May, moved back home in August and started my new job. In the midst of all the changes, I have had some highs and lows in my workout/healthy lifestyle endeavors. My “high” was all the training I put in ( in the first half of the year) for my Olympic- distance triathlon. I competed in the race that May and was very proud of finishing! My “low” would have to be what I am feeling right now. I look back at this year and see how hard I have worked to lose weight/get healthy. After starting my job I had to scale back on all the time I usually used to work out. In September I joined a gym at home and have seriously tried to make time after work to go. So far it’s progress…. I feel like I have regressed(gained weight) since leaving Athens (college town) at the end of July but this is my life now. Now it’s “GO” time…it’s the real world…now is the time I take everything I have learned these past few years while living in my bubble and apply it to living a healthy lifestyle in the real world. That brings me to the New Year of 2013.'
I have never been one to make resolutions…the last resolution I made was when I was 8…I made a resolution to eat at the local ice cream shop once a day for the whole year…that lasted all of ONE day. Haha good thing! So for this New Year, I will not make resolutions but concentrate on living the best healthiest lifestyle that I can. How am I going to do this? Well here is my brainstorm thinking…
There are 8 weeks until my birthday (February 23rd) I would love to treat myself to a cute new SMALLER sized dress/outfit for my birthday dinner with my girlfriends. Based on the past year, my weight loss on a weekly basis has been minimal…a little here…a little there…gain back a little here…gain back a bit there… but I want to stop that cycle. Therefore I am going to try and lose 10 pounds in 8 weeks… I wish I could lose at least 12-15 pounds in 8 weeks but I need to be realistic. To me 10 pounds is a big undertaking but I am going to give it my best! I already pack healthy lunches for work. I need to continue those over to my weekend meals. Also, I am currently in the process of making my “free time” calendar and scheduling swimming at the aquatic center 2x a week. I am going to concentrate on running..I have picked out a running plan that will help build my cardio. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not like to run. I am not good at it. I look like a doofus but I sure as heck going to stick to it! I want to be “a runner”!!
Planning the entire year of 2013 stresses me out so for now its until Feb 23rd :) Stay tuned for post birthday updates and ** hopefully** a picture of a cure new SMALLER dress!
