The year that is now winding down, 2012, was a wonderful year !
February, Heart Month, saw me enjoying the upscale facilities of
a local Fitness Center. I took full advantage of their treadmills,
and took in some of their classes. I enjoyed the Zumba Classes
the most ! Spring saw the re-opening of the swimming pool, in
my Apartment Block ! I could again easily access a pool.
Spring also saw me start to visit the picturesque Kildonan Park,
and enjoy lovely walks, there !
When summer came, so did a whole bunch of Festivals ! I took in
some of them. I particularly enjoyed my visit to Assiniboine Park,
on Canada Day ! After singing a rousing O Canada !, I was first in
line, to get some Canada Day cake ! It was truly a lovely day, to enjoy
the park ! Everyone was so happy ! Folklorama was again a fun
celebration, blessed with nice weather, so that people could easily
make their way, wherever they had to go ! I remember, at the
Folklorama Kickoff, a surprise opportunity to get in some extra
dancing, when the M.C. lead us all in a dance lesson of the steps from
several National Dances ! Folklorama was great ; shortly afterwards,
we were presented with a three-day celebration of the Two Hundredth
Anniversary of the Arrival of the Selkirk Settlers. Attending the activities
always entailed a nice walk, there, and back ! Attending a few Goldeyes
Games also gave me the opportunity to get in some more walking.
I sure hope that New Year 2013 will see a continuation of all these great
activities, for me !
