It was a very good year

Saturday, December 29, 2012

Looking back on 2012, it was a very good year, like that song by Frank Sinatra:

It was the year I made a serious bid for health. Going from this:

To this:

losing 110 pounds on the way, and encountering many adventures, that I have shared in other blogs.

Like dancing on stage with Richard Simmons.

I survived the holiday season,

with only minor damage. But there was a lesson learned.

I found a new trigger food, and it's painful to learn.

It's chocolate.

I am a bona fide chcoholic,

Who can't look at chocolate without scarfing the whole thing down. But I learned from this.

Before, I thought my only trigger food to avoid was Honey Nut Cheerios.

Boy, was I proven wrong. But I'm getting back on track, and even before New Years.

And now, I'm looking forward to 2013.

And it's going to be even better!

It's a holday lighten up...and don't set yourself up for failure..Plan ahead to make some mistakes..save some snack calories from the days before and offer to bring a few lo-cal treats of your own, remember the darker the chocolate the better and yes there are lo-cal recipes for chocolate treats ;-) even offer to make a lo-cal platter or two of your own..you can make a lo-cal beverage to bring or even offer to co host the gathering...the day of the event eat lightly... But remember to have fun and get right back on track the next day...
