When I was at my Niece's house (Marty), on Christmas Day, I noticed a bird hanging around the yard. Marty says it is in the yard all year. As I got closer to the bird I saw it was a Black Phoebe. The Phoebe's are fun birds to watch. They are part of the Flycatcher family. I was shooting at a distance, plus it was a bit overcast, so the pictures are not super clear, but ok. The Black Phoebe's build a nest just like the Swallows have. I found that interesting.
My 2nd oldest Sister, and Marty's Mom.
I love this decoration piece my Niece had on her table. The bowl is setting inside a wreath, and the gifts in the background were an extra touch.
I loved the candles on her mantel.
I was walking around her backyard, and I noticed a pretty hibiscus in bloom.
Now I am jealous. My Niece lives near San Diego. They are warmer in the winter then where we are, so they have Bougainvillea year round. One of my favorite plants, but they die here due to our freezing temps. in the winter.
My Great-Niece adopted a Pitt Bull about 2 yrs ago, and always brings Sydney to the family functions. Someone found Sydney roaming the streets, and her ears had been cropped off. Poor baby, but she loves people. She has the prettiest eyes.

The next day DH and I drove out to Leona Valley. We spotted a Red Shoulder Hawk.
And a flock of Robins. They were either in the trees, or flying around.
White Crowned Sparrow
Lark Sparrows were hopping about as well.
