I did it!!!!!
The best laid plans...blah blah blah...so here's what really happened.
I did have a plan.
I did do as I said and bring a veggie lunch with low cal dressing with me along with two bottles of water.
On the way there D.H. asked if I knew for sure if there was going to be food. No...I don't know that for sure.
So we stopped in Grand Rapids and bought a Subway Sub. Flatbread/turkey with all the veggie fixings. Total calories 320 + the 285 calories from the veggie omelet = 605
We get to the reception and yes there was food. I made up a plate of veggies only and got my own salad dressing. Calories +100= 705 and now it's 3pm.
Went to Sams Club and did our shopping. There were giving samples away at every turn. I was tough! D.H. on the other hand seemed really hungry and was eating a lot of them. I figured we wouldn't make the 2.5 hour drive home so I told him if we went to Wendys he could have fast food knowing they had salads but I've never had one. (remembering my veggie bucket was still in the car which I ate later another 100 calories). So I ordered the half apple pecan Chicken salad which totaled 170 calories. Now I am up to 975 calories.
I felt badly as it was after 8 pm when we got home and unloaded the car but I just seemed to need something more than all that cauliflower and broc/carrots I had eaten. So I had some of my homemade granola and milk.
Total calories for the day came to 1600. I usually stick around 1200 to 1400 but SP say I can go up to 1610. So I did push the upper limit but did not go over it.
Long story short....My plan today didn't go as planned but everything that went into my mouth today was very healthy. It showed me with some determined thought/preplanning this can be done. And most importantly...done by me at this time when I really need to get this right.
Also, it has been my first day off from exercise in one week and my knee's appreciated the break.

I'm really proud of myself for not caving today. "And it was really hard to be in the car with D.H. french fries smelling it up. I didn't have a single one though. Yeah!!!!
Other than the fries he was good and had a broiled chicken sandwich and diet pop.
