I am saying all of this to myself. If it applies to you then I hope it helps you to have something to think about as well.
What is Commitment:
It is making the choice NOW! Later, tomorrow, or Monday, or January 1st is not commitment, it is something else....procrastination.
Commitment is a NOW decision based on the choice that will make me my warrior best. I am a warrior apprentice! It may not always be and usually isn't the easy choice. Easy choices create a life of being held hostage to a body that is not flexible; a body that has inflamed, painful joints with limited mobility; and, most importantly, a life that is second best to the life I want.
I refuse to be a sorry ***** person who weeps because they are suffering a life of self-indulgence. I will not be a victim of making the easy decision, or what seems to be the privileged life. I will choose to clean my own house, wash my own car, carry my own groceries to the car; and take the parking space at the back of the lot. It is okay if it is raining. I have a collection of usable umbrellas.
I have heard people whine that they can't do what it takes to get fit and lose weight. I have been there. Well, all I can say about that is what I read one time in a cartoon that said, :Do you have an hour a day to exercise or do you have 24 hours a day to be dead" or worse, living a life in pain and misery taking it out on everyone else because you choose the easy way? We each have the choice. yes, you might have a limitation or injury, wah wah. Push yourself anyway. Walk at the grocery store instead of using the scooter, park a further way and make yourself walk some. Push yourself. Do not be a victim. If you can not walk, do what you can plus a little more. I will think of all of you as I push myself to the limit as well and next time the limit will be a little further than this time.
My Sparkfriend said to begin my statements with "I can" or "I will" and I say, don't give voice to the negative. This is where commitment begins! If not now...when?
