2013 goals

My biggest accomplishment in 2012 was exercising everyday. Some days it was 2 hours...somedays it was 10 minutes. But it all added up. Now I am contemplating 2013!!

I want to spend time on myself. Not only in physical exercise, but also working on my emotional health. It all matters.

I am setting my goals to spend time exercising daily. I will mix up cardio and strength training through the week. This works for me. I need to do both. I definitely am working on my abs and hips...I think this will be my immediate focus.

I will also spend time daily either meditating, praying or making a positive mantra daily.

    emoticon on a great 2012! that is fantastic to be so consistent!! You have an awesome goal for 2013!
    I am so lacking in relaxation exercise of any kind. I can guess it may help me sleep better if I could do this. But most of my late nights are spent trying to get as much Sparking done as possible after a busy day. Something has to give. I can't live on the 3-4 broken hours of sleep I get (and sometimes less) I am a zombie most of the day. Going through life dead tired isn't much fun. I know a lot is due to pain and if I get my right hip fixed I am guessing a lot of my pain will go away. The wait list for surgery here is just so long.
    I am wishing you good health, happiness and peace in the New Year and always -may you realize and enjoy any goals you set for yourself :)

    Sounds great! My goal is to up the intensity of my exercising in 2013. I also want to keep trying to add protein to my diet - very tough for me to do, but I feel so good when I do.

    emoticon on meeting your goal to exercise daily! That is a worthy goal, and one I would like to emulate for 2013. I struggle the most with fitness.

    I agree also that our spiritual life is just as important (if not more) than our physical life. I'm preparing to do a cleanse/detox, but I would also like to focus on detoxing from negative thoughts, self-sabotaging actions, or wallowing in past mistakes and self-pity.

    Today is a NEW DAY! Here's to PURE thoughts and PURE actions.

    Wonderful blog. I'm happy to see that you had goals for your body and your spirit. You can't be healthy when they are out of balance.

    I remember reading that your brain cannot tell the difference between reality and imagination~which is why telling yourself positive messages through prayer or meditating actually creates physical changes in the brain's neural pathways so you perceive happiness~either real or created! Aren't our brains the work of a great creator?

    So mantras and chanting and singing while moving your body makes a perfect duo.

    A balance of body, mind and spirit is so important.
    For me 2013 will have family spotlighted as my parents are in failing health and my grandchildren are involved in many activities.

    I like your goal of meditating, praying, or saying a positive mantra. So often when we try to make healthy changes, we only focus on the physical part and forget the mental part. Here's to a happy & healthy 2013! :)
