Well, after the Christmas fun and fest, I felt like I needed to get back on track. Too many Christmas cookies and treats were put before me during this vacation so my husband and I are embarking on a detox program to eliminate caffeine, sugar, salt and anything else harmful from our bodies. This way I figure that we can then begin a new "diet" afterwards but our bodies will be ready for it because all the cravings will be gone and old habits abated.
We both need to lose the 40-50 pounds according to all the weight charts but most importantly, we will hopefully reduce our blood pressures and cholesterol as well. My goal is not to be on medication for those two things. We are starting a new exercise workout schedule as well with strength training 2-3 times a week and cardio every day.
We are excited to see results and track our progress. We know it won't be easy and my husband, who is diabetic, will need to watch his blood sugars more closely. There will be challenges along the way as well. I will need earplugs when my husband starts complaining about all this, too!
