I keep reading and hearing about the dangers of sitting too long. Then today on sparkpeople (somewhere) I read make it a goal not to sit more than 20 minutes at a time. (I would make obvious exceptions... family meal time, game time, church...) I LIKE this idea. I sit far too much. How many MORE calories would I burn if I kept a timer with me.. and set it for 20 min every time I sat down... or if I am watching a show to commit to getting up and moving, whether fitness or just DOING something during EVERY commercial??
So today, this is my goal.... no prolonged sitting. I also feel this is likely going to make me WAY more productive.. hopefully even in my seat work. And my housework should be better dealt with... and I WILL get in more fitness minutes.
I always hear that as you lose weight you will get more active and energetic... I may not be an athlete.. but I don't need to WAIT to move more. Moving more will help me LOSE more... even if I am not yet ready to kick up fitness to the next level.
YUP. Bye bye lazy sitting! Hello healthier more active ME.
