Why wait until Jan 1st to START AGAIN?

Every year I say the same thing "This year I am going to reach my goals". Well 2012 was a year of ups and downs. The Most Important UP -- I lost 20 pounds this year!!
Today I woke up to the "NO POWER" alarm beeping. I took that as my sign to get up and get moving. Luckily it was only out for about an hour since it was only 25 degrees outside & snowing. Since I got up early and had no power, I didn't sit around this Saturday morning watching the news and sipping coffee. I made a big pot of healthy veggie soup (a gas stove is a plus during a power outage), cut up raw veggies to make a big salad to eat from for the next few days and stashed away some carrot & celery sticks for snacking at work. I am even motivated to walk on my treadmill but before I do that it looks as if I better tend to the snow in my driveway.
It is usually January 1 when I tell myself to get it together and make this year the one to reach my goal weight. I think today I had that talk with myself a few days before the new year starts! I would love to be at a healthy weight & BMI, but if I can lose another 20 in 2013 I'll be happy with that too.
I wish you all a healthy & happy 2013. Reach for your goals. Some can lose weight quickly and can stick to the plan. Some lose weight slowly because they have bumps and curves in their path. The important thing is - don't give up on yourself. Hugs to all of you for helping me in 2012! I'll be looking for your support in 2013 and I hope I can give some encouragement to anyone who needs a helping hand.
