And . . . we're back.

I've been on vacation, then to my folks' for the holidays. Much damage was done. However, while on vacation, I did do some running for the first time in a very long time, with no bad results. I had to give up running some years ago - it just hurt and was uncomfortable. I carry a lot of weight in my hips and thighs, and running was hard on my knees. So, this hotel had no fitness room, and I just got out and ran. The second day, I ran across this bridge in Beaufort, SC - I felt like Rocky! It was great! From that point, though, I was sore, and I think that became my excuse not to work out for the rest of the week. Boo, me! And then at my mom's, faced with 6 different kinds of cake and a mother who loves through food -- well, the last week has not been good, to say the least.
Today I pack up all the cake Mama sent home with me in individual servings. Little rewards for later in the year. Got to get them off the counter! And I begin thinking about how I want to shape next year. I love new year's resolutions and the idea of becoming a better person over time. Conversion means continually seeking ways to become closer to who I know that I am.
I made of point of setting today as my day to get back on the SP train, so here I am. Back to tracking, back to working out regularly. I'd like to lose 10 more since I gained 5 in the last few weeks. I'm here to get inspired and to remember how good this feels. Thank you all for your inspiration! Things will be easier once I'm back at work (next week), and I expect the next few days to be tough, what with all the celebrating. But, do you know, last year, with SP help, was the first year that I've kept a new year's resolution? I am determined to do it again. In the past, I've felt sort of hopeless at this point in the year, and that's not true this time. I've seen the way that SP works. I know it works. I'm glad I'm back.
