A Penny for Your Sparkpoints

Saturday, December 29, 2012

It has been about three weeks since I re-started on this site. When I first came back, I was reading through the site to find motivation, I came across this idea. What I read somewhere was about this reward system. Every Sparkpoint you earn you put a penny in a jar. I thought that was a great idea since it is proven the more active you are on this site, the more you track food, track exercise, and read and stay motivated the more successful you are.

I added to this "penny per point" reward system. I also put $1/pound lost in my jar. I told my oldest and she said she would put a $1/pound in the jar, too.

Less than three weeks later I have about $18 in my jar. This jar is ME money (I hope I use it for me and not for just paying bills). I am already thinking about what I want to do with my money. Maybe some cool boots, or a nice new outfit (depending on how long I collect).

This reward system keeps me motivated. It also is like a challenge...I want to get as much money in that jar as possible. It motivates me to try to get that bonus spin on the wheel every day; which means I am reading article, doing trivia, blogging, and everything I can...which also adds up to motivation! It also adds to the motivation to stay committed to my calorie range and not over eat!

I am hoping for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2013 for myself and all my Spark friends!

Congratulations especially on your oldest being willing to put a dollar a pound because is a very interesting way of showing you her support and her love ( am assuming it's a daughter).

Eat lots of fruit and vegetables, that will help a lot

I like using rewards as well. I put the money in a jar and use it to further my journey - new workout clothes, hand weights, a new kitchen scale, etc.
