I know I've been pretty absent from SparkPeople the last few months. I still use it very often; I'm just much more of a lurker. Which I guess isn't the best type of person, especially when much of this community is based on outward support...
2012 has been a wonderful year for me. I lost ~40 lbs this year, bringing my total weight loss to ~155 lbs. I've gained about 5-10 lbs over the last month due to holiday eating, which is unfortunate but also my own undoing. Some of that gain is simple water retention, so I expect that I'll lose a few lbs very quickly once I get back to my normal eating habits.
2012 provided me with a goal I never knew I had but am glad I have reached -- running. I never thought I would be running or wanting to run as a form of exercise. But I participated in 6 races from September-December and enjoyed all of them for different reasons!

I have about 15-20 lbs I'd like to lose for 2013, which is completely doable. I received many health-related Christmas gifts, so I'll be using the heck out of them! A Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS watch, the Withings Wi-Fi bodyscale, the BodyMedia Link bluetooth armband (my previous BodyMedia armband was not bluetooth), some Dri-Fit clothing. Super excited!
So, goals for 2013:
*Lose 15-20 lbs
*Train and run half-marathon in April
*Learn Spanish (using the Rosetta Stone I received for Christmas)
I'll add more as time goes on, I'm sure. But number one goal is to start my training for the half-marathon! And soon!
