First Week - Determination

First week on HMR, I found SparkPeople and am keeping the motivation going. I am so happy that my quick start week I was able to lose 6.6 lbs and am starting slowly to increase my excerising.
Exercising has always been a problem for me, never seemed motivated enought to stick with it but this time I am going to! I have made my goal for myself to run a 5k this fall in memory of my baby sister. This means a lot to me and I am going to do it!

I have some support from some people in my life, however I do have one person that seems to be negative. I mention exercising and I get a "yeah right" or something that always seems to be a put down. Use to I would let this get to me and I would give up...but no more!! I am using that as a "I will show you" kind of attitude to give me more determination! I will prove them wrong!

Last year I set some New Year Resolutions and thought I did not succeed that no one ever sticks with them. Well I am the type to write mine down and guess what I did follow through on one of the major ones! I may not have stuck with it in January but through out the year I did take the steps to stop smoking and have been smoke free for over 18 weeks now! I have made that big change in my life so I know I can make even more!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the 18 weeks of no smoking.

Oh and by the way, don't even worry about proving them wrong...just keep doing it for you and your baby sister and they'll see. As your energy is better spent focused on the positive support and progression you're making.
