We received some really good news this week and it will make a whole of difference in our comfort levels during these many years left to us. I am so proud of my husband. He is finally facing those things he needs to change and getting some real help for problems that have plagued him for years now. He is really making strides in trying to cut back and to quit smoking all together.
Today, he is going into town and dickering/dealing to trade his van for a small pickup. It is clear that no money can change hands. We just do not have it. The person he is speaking with needs a nine-passenger van and my husband needs a small pick-up for when, if, and how-for we manage to move elsewhere.
We sent out a letter just before Christmas and our expectation is to hear back within this next month. The letter is in regard to a home in our neighborhood that has set empty for quite some time. It is owned by a person who lives now in another country. Our hope is to secure some arrangements so that we will not have to move very far away.
I am musing a lot about new year resolutions that will work for me. I would like to make ones that are realistic and that I can keep without adding extra stressers to my life. I will post those to this blog when they are clear in my mind.
As to my wellness, it is a daily process, always underway. Yesterday was not a good day as the trip to the VA wore me out totally. Of course, my legs did not want to work the rest of the day so I spent almost the whole day on my walker. Today is a make-up day to get those things done today that I was not able to do yesterday. There is the usual laundry, dishes, mopping, etc., etc., etc.
I will get to it. And as to food choices and portions,..."leanest means possible".
