My Christmas Gift

Saturday, December 29, 2012

My BIL bought me a FitBit Ultra for Christmas (looks like everyone in the family knows me very well). I have been using an Omron pedometer for about three years now (I just love it!) Its a bit big compared to the fitbit but it has served me really well.

I've been using the two together over the past week just to try and compare the readings, it's a bit confusing how different the readings are. On day way, the steps recorded on the fitbit were more than those recorded on the Omron pedometer by about 2000 steps. On day two, the pedometer beat the fitbit by 6000 steps and yesterday, the pedometer beat the fitbit by close to 8000 steps.

This is very confusing for me. Anyone care to shed some light?

Happy new year!

Pedomoters are funny things... they judge your steps by how it's "shaken". Did you have both devices in the general same area when logging the steps?

Yikes. I have no idea. Could it be where we wear them? Maybe a call to fitbit is in order? I'd be curious too.
