Paleo Diet Day 46: More motivation to be strong

Today went by quickly. This being my break from school I had the luxury of spending more time in the gym so I could do a strength workout without rushing to get to work. My primary exercise is running but I'm conscious that many runners neglect to build their muscle mass and core. I'm working esp. on shoulder, chest, back, and core muscles to help keep strong form over longer distances. Then this afternoon I went to the doctor and got the good news that two moles that were removed last week tested negative. The doctor then complimented me on my runner's build, and in the next breath "encouraged" me to work on my biceps and triceps - citing the need to build muscle mass now since of course we lose it as we age. OK, that's good motivation. As my daughter said, "You don't want to become that creaky old man." True enough!

I ate well, if quickly. Yoghurt, sunflower seeds, banana, tea for breakfast; zucchini and eggs for lunch, and the leftover beef and green beans for dinner. Snacked on a mix of almonds, raisins, a bit of dark chocolate, and tea while watching "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and admiring the athleticism of the martial artists.
