what is your fav hot tea?

Friday, December 28, 2012

I plan to start getting back to drinking hot tea every day --- it's a good habit that I sorta let go over this past month and I really feel that hot tea is a great addition to my weight loss plan --- fills me up - gives me a wide variety of flavors - healthy benefits - etc.

Today I tried a new one Honey Vanilla Chamomille and it is really good! I need to get a new stash as I'm down to just a few bags ---- do you have a favorite? Thought I'd ask my sparkfriends what you've found out there in the wide world of teas!!! Thanks for your help!

I tend to like whatever I have open, right now, that is Red Rose, Irish Breakfast Tea, Green Tea, and Red Rose Lemon Cheesecake. That one is so good, it could almost start a binge. I'm out of one that I'll NEED to buy next grocery trip: something with black cherry in the name. Sorry, there's none in the house but it is delicious.

I am working to grow my own herbs to make my own mixes, or add to the tea I buy.

This was quite a response to your blog!! I enjoyed reading the responses.

Celestial Seasoning Bengal Spice Tea--caffeine free--very aromatic, cinnamon/ginger flavor. Also the best Chai Tea I've found (in bags) is Stash brand--I like to simmer it in half skim milk/half water for about 7 mins--amazingly good! (If you use higher-fat milk, it will form a 'scum' layer on top as it cools, so skim is best for it)

One trick my ski friend taught me was to add some cayenne pepper spice to tea--it really helps warm you up if you're chilly from being outside all day. Sounds weird but it's actually quite tasty if you like a little zing to your drink. :)

In the am I always have a Twinings Irish breakfast tea. During the day I like Lemon Zinger, or Very Berry (Lemon Zinger makes a great iced tea). At night I like Sleepy Time and sometimes add a lemon zinger to it too.

For Christmas, my mom gave me a pretty delicate tea cup that I'll be using for my night time tea.

Vanilla blackberry by Lipton. My son has become a tea expert and has been buying teas at Teavana. Just walking in the store is a delicious experience. But my budget doesn't work with the cost of the teas

I love tea! My favorite is French Vanilla from Bigelow, I get it right at the grocery store. I also have caramel vanilla. Plus for Christmas I got some spicy orange tea. Oh, and I also have Lipton green tea with honey. I would love to get some chocolate tea. I haven't seen any at the grocery store but I sent away for a tea catalog and I might treat myself to some.

I too find that tea satisfys me without going for a snack. I enjoy mint flavored tea, vanillas and trying a few different ones. My DH has started drinking more hot tea and enjoy a cup or two most evenings. We have gone to the tea store at the MOA and have purchased some teas there .I find the one tea I only like iced and not hot is peach. Some of the teas we have bought at the tea shop are flavored white teas that are light and pleasant tasting.

I wish that I could help you, but I don't like tea of any kind. Now, if it was coffee, I could help you out. emoticon

I enjoy tea but don't really have a favorite - always prefer lemon if available.

However, I got a really nice pack of holiday teas at theChristmas Tree Shopppe. Whata nice surprise, there are 4 varieties and have been lovely.

Enjoy your tea time - it's always a special treat to take time to sit and enjoy a cup.
