I know it's been a while since my first blog post - I apologize for my tardiness if anyone was interested. I'll try to keep it short and sweet. Since the weigh-in during my first blog when I was 236lbs, I have lost about 5 pounds. I feel COMPLETELY VINDICATED that the method i'm employing is working well.

Once upon a time i believed that I could eat whatever I wanted as long as I worked out 2 or even 3 times a day. Most of you know that this is folly - not only did I burn out quickly under that old method, but i really used it as an excuse to eat anything and everything in sight...

NOW.... the primary focus of my weight loss strategy is on WHAT i'm eating, as well as WHEN i am eating it. During the daytime hours, i am a veritable fruitarian, greedily consuming nothing but fresh organic apples, bananas, grapefruit, etc. As a consequence, I never feel lethargic at work, and in fact, I feel like a wellspring of energy throughout the day (no caffeine required, :D) . When I arrive home in the evenings, I have ONE meal rich with vegetables and meat, followed later by a modest dessert (granola bars, fruit bars, root beer)..... ITS WORKING! I never feel overly hungry, or feel as though I have to gorge myself on bad sugars. Most importantly, I've been drinking more water than ever and exercising modestly (5 days a week or so), so as not to burn out.

Guys... I can't tell you how wonderful I feel right now. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm on a sustainable path to greatness... I can feel it in my gut, in my bones. It's the feeling you get when you're the last person standing in a spelling bee and you KNOW how to spell that final word... the feeling you get when you come out of a job interview KNOWING that come hell, come high water, they're going to offer you the job... the feeling of getting a second wind at the tail end a very brisk run where you KNOW you've got the fuel to see your way to the finish line. It's not so much like being in the eye of the hurricane as it is being the hurricane itself. It's dizzying, addictive, and thoroughly fascinating.

I'm really happy!
